And when he met me again outside, still upset, he simply ignored me and went on with his business. After about two years of unease and pain that has stayed with us since that traumatic appointment, we took the child through another series of evaluations โ which completely ruled out any communication problem, and certainly not developmental delay. Today it is clear that he has attention difficulties and a mild speech delay caused by the hearing loss โ and that is all.
